FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often about container sales, conversions, delivery, and pricing. If you don't find what you're looking for, get in touch — we're happy to help.
What sizes of shipping containers are available?
We supply 10ft, 20ft, and 40ft containers as standard. Other sizes can be sourced to order. The 20ft unit is our most popular size — it offers a good balance of space and manoeuvrability for most UK sites.
Do I need planning permission for a container?
It depends on the use and location. Storage containers on commercial sites often fall under permitted development. For residential use or permanent structures, planning permission may be required. We recommend checking with your local planning authority — we can provide drawings and specifications to support your application.
How long does a container conversion take?
A standard conversion typically takes 4–8 weeks from order to delivery, depending on complexity. Bespoke builds may take longer. We'll give you a clear timeline estimate during the quotation stage.
Do you deliver across the whole UK?
Yes. We deliver to any UK site — from city centres to remote rural locations. Delivery cost is included in your quote based on your postcode. We handle all transport logistics including craneage if needed.
What condition are refurbished containers in?
Our refurbished containers are thoroughly inspected, repaired as needed, repainted, and fitted with new door seals. They are wind and water tight, structurally sound, and look presentable. They're an excellent value option for most applications.
Can containers be stacked or joined together?
Absolutely. Containers are designed to be stacked — they can support significant loads when properly configured. We can join multiple units with openings between them, create multi-storey structures, or arrange them in custom formations.
What about insulation and temperature control?
We offer full insulation options — from basic insulated lining to high-performance thermal systems. Combined with heating, cooling, and ventilation, your container can be comfortable year-round regardless of external conditions.
How much does a container cost?
Prices vary significantly based on size, condition, and specification. A basic used 20ft container starts from around £1,500–£2,500. A fully converted office unit might range from £10,000–£25,000. Bespoke builds are quoted individually. Contact us for a free, detailed quote specific to your requirements.
Can I see a container before buying?
Yes — we encourage it. You're welcome to visit our facility to inspect containers before purchase, or to review a conversion before delivery. Just let us know and we'll arrange a convenient time.
What warranty do you offer?
New containers come with a manufacturer warranty. Refurbished units carry a structural warranty from us. All conversion work is warrantied for workmanship. Specific terms depend on the product — we'll detail everything in your quotation.
